Work in Progress…

“We all want progress, but if you’re on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive.”

C.S. Lewis

Dan Gilbert, psychologist from Harvard University, talks about the “end of history illusion,” where we somehow imagine that the person we are right now, is the person we will be for the rest of time. Obviously that is not the case!

Each project, every image that I conjure up is a “work-in-progress”, I always have multiple iterations of the “finished product” going on in my mind, or on my digital canvasses on the computer. None are really finished, or cast aside for that matter, they are just places where my thoughts have taken a brief respite, and I have had the conviction and confidence to capture them.

To make a true confession, none of my art is ever finished. I just chose to capture a single frame of the movie that is playing 24/7 in my mind and to show you.

These “work in progress” (or work in process) images give you an idea of how my brain is working at a particular moment in time.
